Electrical power failure notification
![]() |
Blackout often hits Cebu. Even if we don’t have a choice, power failure without notice is still a big trouble. I heard that in a certain N Village in Cebu City, they notify each household before an electrical power failure occurs. However, there is no such prior notice in the place where I live, S Village. They say that there is a blackboard near the gate of the village where all announcements and notifications are written. But just like in a certain N Village, as much as possible, I also want them to inform each household in the village in cases of electrical power failure. | ![]() |

Just as I remember this. VECO (an electrical power company) distributed letters at the gate of the village the other day. “There will be no electrical power in the village See? They can also do it!! It is now my second year in the village and this is the first time they notified us regarding blackout. That evening, I put ice cubes in a Ziploc container and put it in the freezer. I set the temperature of the refrigerator to its lowest and then slept. The next morning, I prohibited the opening and closing of the freezer and refrigerator to maintain the low temperature. Alright! The countermeasures were taken perfectly. If you are prepared, there’s no need to worry about the future. Do you understand? Hoo ho ho ho hoo!!! On the following day…… I have prepared so much for the blackout but eventually the electrical power returned after a while. Oh! I did not have any worries regarding the blackout. It is for sure. But I just don’t understand. I am not satisfied with what happened. From March 2008 issue |
